Hey
i haven't seen any improvement in my N95 battery since the update.
Today, i had a fully over night charged phone.
I have used Goggle maps for 5 mins (via 3G and Wireless network), sent a few texts and the bar has gone down one already!!!
Is it because the battery has been over used (since June) and needs replacing? If so, what battery do you suggest?
I have seen definite improvements since firmware change. My battery has been in the 90% all day after a full charge from morning. My battery is 2 months old.
i would go for the standard n95 battery.
Yeh my battery has been in use prety much all the time since June.. i may buy a new one and keep this as a spare
I've definitely noticed an improvement. In (my) normal use it used to be down by 2 bars when I got home, since the update it stays full. To be honest I always charge it night anyway as I've got used to doing it, and I've had my N95 since it was released in the UK.
I've had my N95 for seven months. The battery life does seem much improved even though I've been busy setting it up since V20.
Perhaps the paging demand or the OS are helping to conserve battery life.
I'm sure there are those out there, more knowledgable than I, that can explain this.
Im going to do a full dis charge.. saying that yesterday it waxs beeping t be charged.. and it dont seem very good.

No point, Li-Ion batteries do not benefit from cycling and, in fact, are better kept as full as you can manage
ah ok, can i ask also, i have a USB Charger, why doesnt it fully charge the phone?
mine seems to take longer to charge now
thats probably just something im imagining, but hey , i thought i would share it with you guys anyway:icon14:
I'm also seeing an improvement, and the meter also seems to be more accurate, before it could drop from 4 to zero bars almost instantly, now it seems to be more "balanced"

If it's USB to N95's Power socket/input then the reason is that USB only provides 5volts or so and isn't enough oomph to get the phone charged fast enough. If the phone is off it should do it but will take longer than your mains charger.
On the off chance you are trying to charge using the phone's USB socket, as far as I'm aware, it doesn't support this method of charging.
Also for the battery tests, start the countdown from when the battery is full. My battery seems to charge within an hour and a half from 1 or 2 bars and stops charging once the Battery Full warning comes up, after that it might only be a trickle charge but I don't know for sure 😊
Let us know how you get on :icon14:
wont doing a countdown drain the battery though>?

im going to conclude my findings to this thought also.

I mean your timings rather than a software counter 😊

Yup, the N95 doesn't support this, unfortunately. (a MAJOR design flaw, I'd say.)
I left my phone doing nothing all day, didn't even get a call and I've just looked at it and its dead😮 was really shocked, wasn't even running anything at all, most odd!
It's not the Firmware man, I had my phone all day out on 3G, checking email automatically every 15min,made few phonecalls, sent few texts, some web browsing using HSDPA, and it still says FULL...
in the past my n95 has required me to charge it up twice a day as im a heavy wifi user, but with v20 fw im finding myself charging it only once a day now, also no bugs so far so looks good
