Yeah but that limited time was rumoured to be until Jan08. Surely this means companies can start selling it unlocked with contracts from other networks?:con?

I got mine on Vodafone, debranded it so can use Truphone etc on it, cost me £40 to unlock, and the phone cost me a £100 on a 1 year contract. Happy with Vodafone so far, their hi-speed internet is excellent, and £7 for 120MB isn't bad.

Well you will awlasy be able to buy them direct, sim free or imported. The fact the company doing it is paying full RRP would mean by the time they have flogged it on a contact the price would put people off.
