'Vent' holder for N95

Hi there - just wondering if anyone's got any recommendations on which in-car holder to use with the N95. Preferably cheap and vent-mounting...Some of those I've seen in shops looks like they might not be wide enough for the N95, yet some of the PDA/Smartphone ones look a bit too tall!

I had one for my 6110 before I got a proper mount (wanted one that would charge without having to plug in all the time) and its great.

Rubberised pads grip it really well. Its spring loaded, and I was easily able to put it in/take it out with one hand. Secure too. Doesnt draw attention like the sucker mounts do.

You can probably find one without the charger, but that holder in the picture is the exact same type I had.

Thanks for that, it looks like the kind of thing I was after - out of interest what 'proper' mount did you end up going for? I've kind of ruled out an opulent solution based on the fact that my car is a little ...err...ageing

Be careful with holder for the N95 as a lot (like the ebay one linked above) grip the sides and push on the media key when unlocked (which it will often be for stuff like navigation).
I strongly recommend the Brodit clips although they are more expensive. They are completely removable and the best thing is that they come in two parts. A clip that fits the car, and a holder that fits the phone. You then just screw the holder to the clip. This is great because if you change phone you just keep the clip, if you change car, you keep the holder.

The nokia one for the 6110 (CR-48 or something, only for the 6110), which Im only semi impressed with. I would have been perfectly happy with the old holder, but as I use it for satnav I need it to be charging, and I didnt want to have to plug in a loose cable each time.

Course, the nokia one doesnt have any mounts with it. So I had to literally wire it to the dash as I didnt want to make holes.

I concur completely with 3Shirts above, the Brodit products are second to none, and yes they are slightly more expensive but you really do get what you pay for.

I wouldn't go back to using any other phone holder again.

They do indeed. You need to get two parts for it. You get a clip which is specific to your car (and where you want to fit it) and a holder which is specific to your phone.

All of the clips attach without damaging the car (i.e. drilling, etc). You can normally choose from either air vent clips, dashboard, etc. The dashboard clips attach by fitting into the gaps on your cars fascia.

As 3Shirts said above, when you replace your car or your phone you only have to replace one part of the holder.

Great, thanks for the replies everyone - looks like the Brodits have unanimous backing...I apprecaite the comments about standard holders activating the side buttons, one of the things I was worried about.
