Though I have an N95, would there be any benefit of getting a bluetooth GPS that I could leave in the car? In other words, can you get increased accuracy if I/is it possible to use the internal GPS receiver at the same time as A-GPS and a bluetooth GPS receiver?

Random I know.

hmmm i dont think it will pick up on both at once... i might be wrong though!

i used to have n93, connected to TWO Bluetooth GPS units, and had two apps running. one TomTom, the other - some tracking software. i needed to use two gps modules as only one program seemed to be able to use it at a time!

You can instruct it to use bluetooth, as well as internal gps, agps, etc. for positioning. I'm not sure if it is able to combine external and internal, but the benefit is that it will work on the internal, and if reception is too poor, simply turn on the bluetooth reciever, and it will use this.

At best you would get the same accuracy - up to 10m from your true position.

At worst, the 2 devices would detect different locations and the software would not know which one to use, and either crash or jump regularly between the 2 locations.

In any event I don't think there's any GPS apps out there which would use both devices at the same time.

Having 2 or more devices wont provide any additional accuracy. Just more error. Any good GPS will already convolve positional information and provide a fairly accurate fix anyway. +/- just a few meters.

The only way GPS can be more accurate is by injecting some known datum in to the calculations, figure out the error present in the received signal, then display the adjusted position to the user.

It's a design thing.
