Animated snow

Trying to get hold of an animated snow thing for my screen, which basically makes it 'snow' on the main screen.

Have downloaded 2 so far, but get the message 'Installation of SNOW.SIS not supported', any idea why?

Which brings the same message, not supported.

Which I dont want to buy if it doesnt work, like the other 2.

Any ideas? Do I need flash lite to install it or something?

Hard to tell from the brief description on the sites, but the first two don't look like they are for Series 60v3 devices (Symbian 9.1). The 3rd one actually says that it's for S60v3, so it ought to work.

Made me feel better about it. Sort of. Still looking for a free one, but thats looking very doubtful.

Sigh, doesnt work.

How on earth do you set something like that up? Is it a theme, a wallpaper, or what?

Its installed, but I see no snow.

Theres a theme there, which I activated which just gave me a boring picture and no snow.

Theres a animation file, viitrio_snow.swf which I set in the power saver option of themes. But still no snow.

Do I have to get my money back, or am I doing something wrong?

The only ever time I did any customisation to a phone was getting an "E=mc^2" operator logo on my 3210; that was such a long time ago...

No idea I'm afraid, never downloaded any themes... that site does say it's "For N95" though, so if it's really not compatible you ought to be able to get money back.

Is it restricted to your IMEI only, if not maybe I can try to play around with it to see how to get it working? Don't worry, I wouldn't want to actually use it 😊

Meh, PMs are still not working.

Ive actually got a 6110, but thats running S60 V3 which is what the software is for.

Ive opened a ticket, but if I get a reply or not I dont know.

Id PM you with my email, but need to find some other way of doing it reasonably securely.

Looks like the 6110 isnt in the list of compatible devices! But I reckon thats just a mistake, I cant think it hasnt got anything phones like the 3250 have got.

Ah, it appears its because I dont have flash lite. However I cant find a download for it anywhere. The adobe site says plenty about it but offers no downloads!

Ah yes, I just thought of that too.

You can download the developer version of the latest Flash Lite 3 from here:

http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashlite3/

Need to create an Adobe account if you haven't already. I just tried with my usual login details and it seems that I registered a few years ago already...

Looks like wasted money then, if it needs Flash lite 3, as that's not due out for a while. The Adobe player is for development only, "only supports standalone content and cannot be used to view SWF files that are embedded in a mobile web browser or to test any type of personalization content such as wallpapers or screensavers."
