Phonetunes from Devlex for iTunes

So,

I posted about this sometime ago in the N80 forum and have been a user of it every since, though the pickup in the N80 side was zero. Its a good app, and pretty much allows you to be lazy enough not to interact with itunes manually.

Basically, its a simple interface for you to control iTunes from your N95 or 3rd ed device, works via wifi, GPRS, or BT and allows you to queue songs from your librabry and then play them or skip tracks etc.

It does this by creating a 'phonetunes' playlist that you add to and then iTunes plays from that.

Its quite cool when you get mates around and can 'control' iTunes from anywhere.

If you want to check it out do so here (AAS guide) or here (company link)

I've just downloaded this and it is pretty cool. Thanks. Beats the whatsits off the virtual desktop software I was previously using.

Anyone managed to get this to work with wifi?? I was fiddling about all night but no joy, however my router/firewall knowledge isnt as good as it could be.

Yes, that's how I've been using it. Just got the computer's IP address (ipconfig /all) put it in the settings menu, and it connected immediately. Ignored the system tray app, as that is about bluetooth connections.

You might need to add port 29960 to forward to your computers i.p. (the one with itunes on it)

if your still stck, come back here.

cgrsfrwll, you found out the other secret menu things?? So far I only get the volume ones. apparently there are more>?

AND hell yeah it beats the vitrual desktop! haha I was doing the same. This is wayyyyyy cooler!

Fortunately I never needed to worry about that. I literally installed, added ip address and it connected itself straight away. Well impressed. The BT setup looks too bothersome to even contemplate (and why would I when WiFi works so well?).

Secret menu things? I found out the volume trick, by reading the manual, along with the alpha jump in Artist view. Wasn't aware of any secret ones.

Can't believe controlling iTunes is so easy. With my Airport setup enabling music in multiple rooms, this is just such a brilliant piece of software. Now, if I could get it to change speaker output, it would be the killer app

My favourite secret feature is the random track button.

I like the way it works on both the artist and album tabs.

thats a quality program kontraband! just got it working in a matter of minutes, and it performs fast too!

Great little application. Thanks

yeah its sweet 😃

No worries :icon14:

selecting a random tracks makes for a really good game of "Guess the Song". Can do a specialist subjects round with a particular band.
very smart.
