Before anyone asks, I am not going to post or send anyone a copy of the file.
But I have just recieved Beta4 and I must say its great.
There is a setup section to allow you to adjust the sensetivity among other things.
Its got a hot key to turn on/off too thats great.
Samir keep up the good work.
He says in the email that if everything goes ok with no reported bugs then the FREE release should be on its way in a few days..
Gary
Ps Nokmote Beta must be close too....
his Website says a unsigned FREE version will be released this Wednesday...
Happy Days
Gary
When did you receive the email for this??
I havent received an email with Beta 4 :con?
im pissed off with samir, ive sent him several emails and he never replies!!
after donating months ago, i have never recieved any betas or emails!!
if anyone wants this signed for themselves, let me know.
Still useless to me. To wake up rotateMe you have to press one of a few select keys, the the Red button. Pressing for example the camera button lightly (focus function) wakes up the rest of the phone, but not rotateMe. This means that each time I am gonna use rotateMe, I will have to press one of the few magic keys first, which kinda defeats the purpose.
I have written Samir about this issue on each beta but apparently he don't care.
Am I the only one bugged by this?
OK I have it now and yes it is great!! Excellent work Samir!
I cant wait for the Beta of Nokmote!!

I haven't found this an issue, with V4 I will normally disable rotation via the shortcut (pencil+camera) and only enable it when I need.
I've found that I mainly use it in the gallery and in the browser (I suggested Samir to make either an include or exclude list so you could set to only work in selected apps, but maybe that will come in a future version).
I did find one bug in V4:
If you disable rotation (with pencil+camera), making a phone call will enable it again so it's rotating while you talk and afterwards. I have reported it to Samir yesterday so hopefully it will be fixed in the final version.
Otherwise this new version seems to work really well.

Same here. very irritating. fair play to the guy for his great work and all that, but not best pleased...
I really like this beta 4 with the sensitivity settings. So far so good. I was cuirous about how the battery is affect by this app. According to Energy Pro its only takes 0,02 w more than usual with the app running. When you twist and turn the phone it uses about 0,5 w for a short moment. So it isnt that much if you dont like to use the phone without the keylock and play around with it.
By the way Energy pro is very handy when testing apps. (or your habits) 😉
And its free!

Hi Peter,
funny, I suggested the exact same thing 😉 😉 Makes me hope that more people think like this and Samir might implement it.

PM

It's great if that is how you want to use the app, but to me that is disabling the automation which this app is all about. If you have to use one of the priviledged few buttons or manually enable/disable the app, then why not just use the old v1 instead? Having to hit one button or the other to switch mode really makes no difference to me.
Samir, why don't you make this app wake up on ANY key press, as long as the keyboard isn't locked?
Camera
Gallery
vol up/down
pen
C
Menu
MultiMedia
None of these keys are allowed to wake up rotateMe. Why?

Presumably to prevent accidental activation for those that want the application "dormant". If you switch it into hibernate mode, it makes sense (well to me anyway) to keep the key combo to reactivate it the same. The fact that it locks itself when the keypad is locked is enough for me.

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but where can I get energy pro?
Is a real improvement.
Top work.

If Samir hadn't mentioned it in the email with beta4, I would've thought the "System App" option let the program work in a completely hidden state (and therefore maybe use less RAM and power).
That would be the next improvement if possible. Otherwise, great job!

That's not what I am talking about. On the contrary, I made a point that there is no logic in using an automated tool, which you have to switch on and off before and after usage. You might as well activate the function directly instead.
The issue is the self-imposed hibernation, which occurs after max 90 seconds. To wake up rotateMe after that hibernation you have to click on one of a select few buttons. This means that if you press one of the above listed buttons you will wake up the N95 and can use it as normally, except for rotateMe which is still sound asleep 🙄
Oh, ok. Misunderstood. But that probably stems from the fact that I don't seen to have the problem with rotateme waking up. Conversely. For me it only seems to go to sleep when I lock the keyboard, despite having a setting of 90 sec (or when I use the hotkeys)
seems ot use more battery

And just like that, you made me change my settings to 90 secs, hoping there was a bug which might be useful 😊 No such luck, though. Since Samir doesn't react when I write him about this, I guess rotateMe will be useless to me. Bugger...

EDIT - Actually, I now realise that I'm talking kak. The way I use my N95, with a screensaver, such that after the screensaver has activated, I wake it up by using one of the scroll keys. This in itself is wakes up RotateMe. Trying to use one of the keys you mention as not waking up RotateMe clears my screen but does not wake up RotateMe.
You're right, I was wrong, Samir you should look into this (assuming you frequent this board).

If worse comes to worst, you could always reinstall beta 3 again 😊
