Saving Battery TIP

HI!... just to share one little trick to save some battery...

If any of you have the PsciLoc ScreenSaver ... that one with many options like Animation, Clocks, Starfield, etc...

Well... then you can save some battery (and screen) if you try this...

Create a blank white gif picture 1 x 1 pixel to save memory...
and use this image like ScreenSaver (Animation option to set it up)

Then set the Sleep Time option to 8 hours (max) ...

In this way after one minute the screen will be totally blank.. like the phone OFF, at last for 8 hours if you don't touch the phone untill show the default date time bar. So the battery save is the best possible.

If you want almost a clock on the screen, use the smallest one...

Go to the Show indicators option of the screen saver and turn on the clock option only... and you will have the a little clock at the bottom of the screen, that clock will consume less power than any other clock, less than default BAR with DATE and Time.

I am getting some more power on stand by in this way... i really notice with this little trick. The screen display if the part that really use the battery.

Hope you like this...

BTW!...

you can also turn on others indicators on the screen saver like:
- Messages
- Missed calls

This will show little icons at the bottom of the screen to check the status of that topics.

There are my tips too.

Switch off the vibrate mode, switch off Bluetooth if it's not in use, lower the ringer tone to level 1, screensaver timeout in 1 min, try not to use the camera or play games or view photos. It will last more days than normal usage.

I had try that when i am on holiday on a curise with no IDD calls. Just on standby can last me 4 days. 😃

Hmmm, why should BT be disabled while you're not using it?

it's not like the phone is constantly polling looking for other BT connections to talk to.. you have to instigate a search manually...therefore, how can it consume more power? All the while BT is enabed, your phone simply sits there waiting for someone elses phone to talk to it...

<goes off to the BT forums to check the validity of saving batter life by turning the discoverable mode off>

Hmm, I can't say I totally agree... If the BT channel is held open to accept incoming connections, the electronics that compose the BT circuitry is likely to be micropower and put to sleep as much as possible, "waking up" say every 100ms to see if any services need attention... We're talking A here, not something many people would worry about...

Having said that, I'd like to read up on it a bit more... I know Mitsumi produce single chip solutions (as found in their USB BT dongles) so they must have data kicking around their site somewhere...
The ULTIMATE trick to save battery on 7650:

Switch it off...
Oooh, you're a funny man, a funny man Mister Sigmacom 😉 Hehe, what's the chances of you being female now and me ending up with egg all over my face ? :-?

Hehe!
...and me ending up with egg all over my face ? :-?
A lot! 😃

All the tip is suck.
Just make sure you get your phone charging everyday or every 8 hrs.
or Don't use 7650 & try others.

if you do this, where's the fun in it? :-? i'd rather use my phone's full potential and charge every so often - or better yet, buy a spare battery. 😃 in manila it's only $5.7! 8)

Well I have to agree.... my phone is never a million miles away from a charger, BT is always ON, vibra-alert is always on (kinda fun sometimes to see my phone jig about on my desk at home when it rings) so I can't see what all the fuss is about to be honest... 😉

Having said that, the fancy screensavers are a total waste of battery life...I wouldn't bother with them!
