Apart from having a smaller screen, what is it about the N95 8GB that is better than the N82?
To list but a few features about the N82:
1. Memory Paging
2. 5 Megapixel camera with protected lens.
3. Xenon flash
4. Upgradeable memory. 8GB Micro SD cards are now available! (54.99)
5. 3D accelerator chip
6. 3G with HDSPA
7. A-GPS
8. Supports OVI , N-Gage and Music Store
9. Costs 450 Euro
Am I missing something here?

Problem?! What's problem got to do with anything!?!

I know this is a forum for tech-heads, and to be honest I was looking for something a bit more in-depth than 'similar spec's...different form factor'. Maybe I ask for too much!!
Also take into consideration, before you reply, that the person asking the question(s) might not have any prior knowledge of the Nokia/Symbian world!! 😊

N95 has dedicated music controls, ability to play n-gage games on landscape mode (at least that's what n-gage.com says), bigger battery, nicer keypad, bigger screen (as you mentioned) and... it's black 😊
edit: forgot about the pencil key 😊
The N82's keypad doesn't look very pleasant to me, although the N95's isn't fantastic anyway. I couldn't say how the difference in screen size works out.
Beya records - I don't get your point either. Who said that N95 8GB is better than N82?

Well from the research I have done on the N95 (8 GB) I get the distinct impression that the N95 (8 GB) is considered to be the Nseries flagship product, in much the same was as the E90 is considered to be the Eseries flagship product! Are you saying that this is an incorrect observation?

Ah, so you wanted a specific breakdown as to what each phone offers, as to why where ever you have read, believes the N95 to be the flagship model. You should have asked for that then. Still, the underlying result would be similar specs different form factor! The 82 has a xenon flash resulting in better pictures/colours and .7million extra colours over N95, with 240 x 320 pixels on the N95 and 320 x240 on the N82. The speed of the 82 is supposed to be better than the 95 but the latest fw for 95 has sped it up loads... if you want a break down of whats what, go click comapre on the nokia site and you can see side by side what each phone is packing.
The N95 8GB has had the advertising set in yeah, so maybe thats why 'they' are saying flagship. Its the most prominent mobile of the Nokia Range.
Thanks though for educating me in the ways of the forum. Very much appreciated. 😊 and I did enjoy your use of exclamation marks.
To put it very simply, which would you prefer?
N82:
Smaller screen
no slide (therefore no multimedia buttons)
no infra red
Candybar design
Expandable memory (up to 8GB currently)
N95 8GB
Large screen
No lens cover
Slide (which may or may not cause problems)
8GB internal memory
No expandable memory
Each to his own at the end of the day. Personally, Id much rather have the N82, but many others would have the N95 8GB, and others still would have the original N95, especially with the recent firmware update. For me, the decider would be the extra ram (N95 classic has less than the N95 8GB and N82), lens cover (N95 8GB doesnt have one), the smaller screen doesnt bother me.
Oh, and batterylife. Theres no decent comparisions out yet, but by the looks of it the N82 easily has the classic N95 pipped. And I simply would not be without a lens cover on a 5MP camera. Also, expandable memory, I want the ability to take it out. And the xenon flash caps it.

I said the same thing this week at the podcast at nokia world, and got some strange looks. Why go over removable memory now a days for inbuilt?
Anyway... different thread that one! 😉

Far from it! It's just that there are those who are so intelligent, and through no fault of their own granted, they often times overlook the fact that those of us who are less intelligent may not be as, and as such require more time to become, clued up! 😊

Always ready to serve Queen and Country! 😉

thank you for your reply. It is very helpful. And in response to your question, the N82.
I recall somebody talkin about DVB-H broadcast reception also, but lookin through the specs now, that must have been some yet to be announced thingie. Personally I prefer my N95-2 8GB over N82, because of the landscape mode in gaming and other use cases too, built in mass storage etc. The camera flash should be better in N82 though.
It will actually be very hard to make me give up my N95 8GB, like it took a mighty spectacular device to replace my old N93 (original, not i)
