Yes, yes, it's just another 'news headlines and content' reader, but Nokia do seem to have some high profile content partners for this free venture, so worth giving Channels a try. Of note is that Channels auto-rotates the screen if relevant, i.e. it's accelerometer-aware on the likes of the N95 and N82 - as the blog entry notes , 'this is a sign of things to come'.

Downloaded this application just for the screen rotation bit, and found that interestingly, it supports rotating the screen in all 360 degrees (up, down, left, right)... The only problem is that there is a bug, so that after rotating the screen this way and that, it'll crash the application... But what are you going to do, it is a free beta application after all... I love all of the things rolling out of Nokia Beta Labs, and applaud the effort in a huge way...
Further, that's the first I've seen of complete rotation in any app on the n95, and bodes well for left handed ngage gaming (I hope), and any number of interesting UI tweaks...
Cheers,
Phono
My load doesn't crash. I'm on v20 firmware on N95-1.
Also, regarding the accelerometer (sp?) - great on the auto-rotate function.
Something to think about. I was playing with Nokia Sports Tracker and I turned on the Pedometer function and without GPS (indoors), it was able to count my steps (not sure how accurate.
I tried another experiement where I just sat on my couch and made pendulum-like movement on the device and they were registered as "steps"....could it be that this is also another accelerometer function! Nice....
