has anyone noticed or have the problem where say you take your n95 out your pocket to take a pic of something. you just open the lens cover take a picture then shut the lens cover when done. it usually goes back to the main screen then locks the keypad. but for me in v20 when closing the lens cover it just locks the keypad and the camera app keeps running. i now have to quit the camera app manually does anyone else have the same problem?

Yeah I noticed this. It is kind of annoying but maybe they figured that since there is much more available RAM now they implemented demand paging, the camera app can stay running and be ready quicker for your next pic?
Still, should be a setting to change that behaviour if you ask me
I dunno, people moan about how long it takes to fire up the camera each time they open the lens cover, and moan about the fact that they can't leave the app running to save boot-up time and then, when they fix it, they moan about it not shutting down. Just goes to show, you can please some of the people some of the time, some people all the time but not all the people all of the time. 😉
PS You're right, should be an option to allow switching off the camera on cover close.
i have just tried this and opened the lens cover and closed it and it just shuts down, will try it a few times more
Yeah, weirdly, I just tried it again and it closed when I closed the shutter! Didn't do that last night.
Must be some kind of RAM/power condition thing
I have noticed the Camera app does not close after you turn it on actually.. it stays in memory even though you "exit" the app. It does take a newly booted phone from 25 MB down to 19MB.. 😞
yeah, Ive tried it and its worked fine... I have though at other times, also had it stick... and strangely, change to use the front camera when the shutter is closed.
Mine works fine. Also I have noticed if you open the lens cover, exit the camera app then go back into it by holding the shutter button it goes into it faster.
