GyPSii released on N95

Hi,

Thanks everyone for letting me post here. I'd just like to mention that we released our GyPSii app for N95 (and 6110 Navigator) yesterday. You can download it by pointing your browser (phone or PC) at:

GyPSii Mobile

It's a free combined mobile/web location-based content and social network. The basic idea is something like:

i) Take a photo using the app (or add an existing photo to the app) on your phone - this is called "PlaceMe"
ii) Upload to GyPSii website with location attached (using GPS)
iii) Check out what's around your current position ("Search"😉 or where your GyPSii friends are ("SpaceMe"😉, see them on a map, share Places with them, etc etc

You can sign up using the mobile app or on the web at GyPSii. When you get home or back to the office, you can log in to the GyPSii Webtop again, check out everyone else's places, and edit any Places you've created.

You can also check out a YouTube video I made.

We've only just got the S60 version back from certification (the Windows Mobile version's been available a few weeks) and are very excited to hear what people think! Please let us know, either in this thread or by clicking the support link at the bottom of our website.

Thanks!

And presumably, the E90?

It works on the N82, as well, even though there is a warning message before installation saying the app is not compatible with the phone.

It seems to be. It would be interesting to see Sam argue the advantages of GyPSii over Bliin.

My initial thoughts on the two services is that gypsii is more organised, it is easier to find things, but it lacks live tracking, which is a must for me if I'm to embrace such a system. Bliin seems somewhat disorganised, difficult to navigate in. It does support live tracking, but there is no good support for tracking other on your own handset.

Overall I think I would like a third option...

hi sam, first congratulations with the N95 shipping of Gypsii.

secondly, if you let me 😉 and if users want to compare the two services ... i would be interested in receiving some feedback on our new bliinGPSXS for handsets. its a mini J2ME app that just sends your coords to bliin. the real experience is then moved over to our new mobile website at: m.bliin.com (for mobile browsers). you can download bliinGPSXS also at m.bliin.com

again, happy to receive your feedback.
Sam thanks
