hide app pics in the gallery??

5 replies · 3,277 views · Started 13 December 2007

hi, i tried to search but i'm not coming up with anything...

basically, i've noticed that any pics belonging to any apps installed on my phone are displayed in the gallery with my (personal) pictures & videos.

is there a way to only show the pictures & vids that i take/load, and hide the pics belonging to any apps in the gallery?

thanks!

also look in the similar threads section at the bottom of posts... that can be useful when your too lazy to do a proper search. 😉

Yup, an identical thread has been at the top of the list for the last few days.

That said - here's how.

Get yourself a file browser, doesn't matter which, just so long as it can tweak the file attributes. X-Plore, FExplorer, y-browser etc.

Open up your file browser and find the directory that contains all the pictures you want to hide.

Rename the directory. Eg. e:\annoying_pictures -> e:\ap1 and set its attribute to hidden.

Now, push your menu key and open up the gallery (no need to close the file browser) - your pictures will be gone. Switch back to your file browser by holding down the menu key for a few seconds, then rename the directory back to what it was.

There are a variety of more complicated methods, though this is what works for me on V20 firmware.
