Help...can't reinstall firmware

Hi all,
I have a Nokia N95 which is a branded Vodafone one. I believe i have the latest firmware...11.0.026.

I have noticed over the last month the phone has become really slow, and the volume button on the side no longer works, in that i can't raise the volume at all.

I thought i would re-install the firmware but for the life of me i can't get it to do it. I plug the phone in to my computer (also tried from an xp laptop) and run the software updater (latest version). It detects my phone and then gives me the option to re-install the software/firmware. All begins fine, then i hear the disconnect from usb and then the phone turns itself off.

I don't know what to do next i have tried everything i know off. Different computers/ all av scanners off etc. I just can't re-install?

Any ideas would be appreciated..

David😡

especially the phone .. though it does sound like a hardware issue ..

so reset the phone GREEN * 3 while powering on .. this will give us a known starting position .. IF you still can't update then I'd be taking the phone in for a warranty repair/replacement.

Good Luck!😊

I pressed the reset combo and it reset to original settings i guess. But still can't update it via usb. It starts then disconnects, then asks me to retry after i remove the battery...etc.

The sound button controller on the side still does not work, so i guess its knackered.

I guess i will take have to take it back to the vodafone shop..

Thanks again for all your help

David

is it the 8GB model? with that firmware you mention...

if it is try using the beta version of nseries pc suite that worked for me and was the only vesion that would update the firmware.
