Ok, before I disconnect my n95 from the computer I always "safely remove" it using the computer. Then a warning message appears on my n95 saying how data may have been lost. How do I "correctly" disconnect the phone? I've been looking around the phone to see how to do it, but I haven't found anything other than simply disconnecting. Thanks!
Turning Data Transfer Mode off
i wondered the same thing. it must be done via your pc.
I think if you open it up without having pc suite running your pc will detect it as a mass storage devce and so you will safely be able to remove it. It even comes up on your phone after you have asked your pc to shut that usb port down...
wait until about 30 seconds after the transfer then close the USB device in the safely remove hardware bit.
I tried that and the phone still gives me the message. I'm running vista home premium if that helps.

Same problem with Linux. Its just an annoyance, I think.
The phone really has no proper way of knowing when the PC has stopped using it.
ah, alright. thanks for the help! 😃
