Browser autoquitting?

9 replies · 2,292 views · Started 19 December 2007

After upgrading to 20.0.015 my browser has started to shut itself down if I leave it on the bookmark list for about 1-2 minutes.

When viewing a web page it works ok, but as soon as I switch to the bookmark list it will quit within 1-2 minutes.

I have no other programs running.

Any ideas or other with the same problem?

Haven't heard of that. Try restoring to factory settings or re-flash your firmware.

I have a 8GB but when I first updated my firmware it didn't go too well too but after I flashed it again everything is workin fine now.

I've found the problem:

It was a theme I was using: New Gold By PiZero

As soon as I switched to standard theme, no problem.

Switching back to New Gold and the problem is back.

I was using the version with default icons FYI.

I have reported this on PiZero's blog.

I have this too on a custom (but not Pizero) theme. I'll try changing to a standard theme and see if that stops it

mmm strange. I've just tried this out, as I too have Pizero's Gold them but I don't experience the problem. I left the Bookmarks page open for 10 mins without any problems.

That's strange. I tried deleting and re-installing the theme and the problem persists.

As soon as I use another theme - no problems.

The same goes for Nokia Energy Profiler - before it would also quit in about 1 minute.

Are you using the latest version of "Gold" with the default icon set?

AFAIK yes. Only recently d/l and installed. I don't use the Energy profiler though, so couldn't comment on that.

Just to update on this. I have tested this for a few days with different themes and it seems the Pizero ones do cause this behaviour. It is intermittent but fairly regular and so far I've noticed it affecting the internet browser when editing/moving bookmarks and y-browser when performing some kind of action (moving, renaming, deleting).
I have not had it happen once when using the Nokia themes or custom ones from other sources so there seems to be something about the Pizero ones that cause this behaviour.
I will try one of the new ones (the 2008 new year one perhaps) and see if it is still present. Very weird bug though
