As the N82 arrived in Steve hands we noticed an interesting detail - bundled navigation. It seems that Nokia's imaging Nseries flagship will be shipping with 3 months of free navigation and local maps pre-installed on the included 2GB microSD card in select European markets. Read on for a photo and more detail.

One can get an APAC version of Nokia N82 for $550 in the US. EMEA version will cost you $700-800 - 3-months navigation included - I say that is very, very expensive navigation trial (3-year is $130).

Hi,

I have a question why these features which are launched in Europe nations why is it excluded in Indian make mobile phones.
We also pay the same price the people pay in europe nations.
here in india we don't have contract system where we can avail the free mobile offer after some months.

And the navigation was free for N95 and has been removed after the maps update.
This is very cheap way of making money from Nokia.

Consider a scenario that you are using IE in Windows OS and a update comes which removes your IE and says that if u want to use IE you need to pay for that just Imagine!.

For me the answer to navigation subscription is easy. Buy 3rd party maps and nav software, I can do without yet another monthly subscription.

The internal GPS is handy for on-foot navigation, but for cars I use a bluetooth external GPS receiver only, because it can be placed for better reception and does not need any network access to perform well. Then I can use TomTom for S60.

The pomotion you get with a handset varies widely (as does the actual price, e.g. the UK is one of the most expensive places to buya SIM free handset).
