Does the USB cable matter?

I don't have a "nokia" usb cable, does it really matter? Im afraid to update my firmware without a "nokia" usb cable

The cable I used to upgrade my N95 wasnt a Nokia one and i had no problems.

It's just a bog standard USB cable, so you can use any standard lead.

Tis a generic USB lead. I use my nokia one to charge my PS3 pads and connect other things to my PC and, equally, I use other cables for my N95. Just whatever I lay my hand on. It's refreshing to see more support for standards instead of proprietary pop-port bollocks

hehe, well said that man!! The pop-port was shapap as it died after about 2 weeks if you used it a lot too.

Just a shame that the N95 doesn't charge over USB, that'd be a very nice handy feature.
