I had my P800 for a week now and happy with it. About the only problem i have is the low ringing tone volume even when set at maximum. I ended up by turning the vibra mode at all times just to make sure i get my calls. The ringing volume is so low that i can barely hear it even in normal situations. Anybody had this sort of prob? I would surely appreciate any help regarding this
Low Ringing Tone volume
you're not alone. seems that the loudspeaker isn't loud enough.
eee.. mine is loud enough. When playing wav files i sometimes have to adjust the volume down to not destroy the speaker. Maby ur midis or whatever is not loud enough from the beginning.
Iv heard from other ppl that the P800 is very loud compared to other poly-phones.
Actually there are three issues here. We need someone to help us on these issues:
1) Ringing Volume: is it High or Low?
2) WAV/MP3 Volume: is it High or Low?
3) When talking with someone using Speaker mode: is it High or Low?
I will buy one next week...so please help us.
Actually mp3 audio is ok. Its like listening to a mini radio but very clear. Thats why i find it wierd why the volume is so low when it comes to ringing tones. A pal of mine told me to use wav files instead as ringing tones coz it will improve the audio volume. Got to try that yet
ok:
1. the ringing volume is high when you're using wave files as ringtone and when using midi's it is not that loud cuz most midi's are quiet ! even when the ringing volume is down to 2 i still here it in crowdy places using wave files !!
2. High !!
3. don't know !! i think it's better than the 7650
i dont think that the midi files sounds better then the N7650...
i think the sound is good even that there have been times that i couldn't hear it ring...
to bad you cant have mp3 as ringtone... :robot:

I think it's a good thing not allowing MP3 as ringtone 'cause I'll probably never be able to pick up another call before the song is actually over. 😉
j/k :P
I've tried it and .wav sounds are much better/louder than .mid.
I have no problems what so ever with or without low/high ring tones. You guys are aware that the multimedia volume, dosen't affect the ring volume ?
In phone -> preferences -> sounds/alerts you set the ring volume. Kinnda annoying though, but I'll just mention it
You guys are right. Just did what most of you were suggesting all along. Downloaded some wav files last nite and loaded it into my fone. The volume is excellent! No more poor volume! 😊
glad we can help!!
Try a midi editor .. u can change the volume .. i have a midi editor on my 7650 and it can double the volume of the midi .. Since there's no midi editor for the P800 you can download a desktop one ..

This is the situation in my phone.
1) Medium
2) High
3) low
but you can always convert the MP3 files into wav. format.....
Piece of cake! Have you tried to turn up the jog dial during execution of the sound? it works 😃
Your P800 have two volume controls, one for the sound itself, the other is general for the device.
i wish this helps
