Only kidding but I was reading this webpage and it brought back some fond memories on my 7650.

how times have changed, or maybe not!

"everything you could ever dream of"...

They are similar designs really, both the phones in this title. Only my latest one doesnt turn loudspeaker off automatically 😞

Ahh that brings me back. I've still got mine somewhere, but it turns itself off whenever I open it (ribbon cable inside damaged?).

Let truth be told, the original layout of the 7650 menu... that's how I've set up my subsequent symbian phones too. I'm just used to that layout.

You can see how symbian has progressed since that phone; I would do anything to be able to get mine back to life. Unfortunately beer and phones, dont mix together.

I know what you mean. My 9110i Communicator got drenched in Vodka+Redbull once in a pub. I managed to clean it off but it wouldn't read the memory card inside the phone anymore. That had all my images/ringtones/apps on, so I was distraught!

Until three months later.... when I discovered that it fixed itself!

what sensors did it use to turn loudspeaker off when you put it to your ear?

I wonder how many are still being used?

Yeah, i remember that! I was always amazed at that function!!! I think it's still something which should be done now, very handy indeed!!

think it was them "bat eye" sensors on the top front of the phone that did it...

Oh yeah, i remember those now. I never had the phone, my brother did so i can't remember it too well. Still, a very smart feature i thought!

Bring it back, Bring it back, Bring it back! 😃

i bought mine from some bloke in manchester then sold it and got a 3650!

I just lost out to getting a Nokia 7650 by £1 on eBay. Damn it only £21..

My friend borrowed my phone when I was in a nightclub and he thought it would be funny to drop it in a pint glass. Should have seen the shocked faces of all the on lookers. Stopped working for months, then just worked..

If my friend did that, Id think it funny to put deep heat on the underside of his toilet roll.

Dont worry I got him back and not intentially either 😉 All I can say it involved his head and bootlid from an old 5 series bmw
