Nokia N95 GPS

I just got my N95, and finished the 3 days trial on Nokia maps software with voice guide navigation. To my surprise the cost so expensive as compared to other GPS gadgets like Garmin, Mio etc which does not need GPRS connection to display the map, no subscription fee (Nokia Maps cost you USD 117.71 for three year subscription).

Am I correct?
If that all true, I'd rather use a GPS Gadgets like TomTom, Mio, Garmin or else. And these gadgets do have speed camera warning also.

umm.. yes, its true - there is a subscription for Nokia Maps. But the problem with GPRS is that you are meant to download and cache your country's maps on your card rather than let it download the streets as you go along. This way will bring your costs down and the only GRPS you'd pay for is the AGPS (which is like 6KB of info).
