shortcut keys on qwerty keyboard

7 replies · 9,557 views · Started 28 December 2007

there are lots of lists of shortcuts for web and maps on a numeric keypad, but none for the qwerty keyboard on the E90. Also, for the map app, the star and hash keys no longer work like they should once the phone is open. So, without further ado, I present a list of the alternative keys:
Web shortcut keys:
B/1 = bookmarks
F/2 = find
P/3 = previous page
W/5 = window
O/8 = overview
G/9 = go!
H/0 = home
Long-press centre = shortcut menu

Gps shortcut keys:
Left shift = zoom in
Right shift/ backspace = zoom out
Ctrl = invert colours
Space = 2D/3D view
Enter/ centre button = 'use this place' menu

Notice that O and P are much closer to your thumb during web browsing! A great improvement, really.

If anyone has any other shortcuts which are woefully under-publicised, feel free to add them.

thank you

Im pretty sure there is no way to do this, apparently its a limitation of the browser itself

how can we convince Nokia to include this in the next patch?

I consider this a must to have functionality.
I had a pda before and this functionality is very useful when you GOOGLE for a phone number and want to copy paste it to phone application/note/email ..etc

i doubt its something nokia can do with a patch as its a brower function missing.

Maybe try another browser out? Opera perhaps?

Current browser it's ok.

I would prefer not to install different browser only for this basic functionality.

A few other ones I found recently:
+ and - operate zoom in web, the same as * and # on the front screen.
+/- work in google maps, though you have to use 1 and 3 on the front screen.
