can anybody recommend/ have a link to a units/measurement convertor freeware ? thanks

There's a conversion app on the n95. It's in the Office folder on v20 firmware, don't know if it's in the same place on earlier firmware.

the nokia one is on all n series phones and is brilliant. Put in your different currencys and it will easily convert them too!!

Use www.xe.com/ucc to work out your currency conversions.

A thought crossed my mind ages ago to write a little program which would update all your currency conversions with just one click over GPRS. I don't have the brains to write progs for S60 phones though 😞

sorry for the screw up. i found it in the Office folder. neva expected it to be placed there earlier on so i thought the new firmware did not hav it. thanks though

is that easier than just imputting the latest currency rates onto your phone though? I find it best to go on teletext input all the latest currency rates then i have them wherever i am in the world without having to use a net connection on my phone.

My idea would be that yes, it would. Imagine it: You install the app and configure it to either update only certain currencies (only , $, and for example) or just download the whole lot. Then just press a button and it'll go online and download the currency rates and same them into your Converter app (or into the file the Converter app uses to store this info). This way you could update rates for all currencies you use in one go, and it could be done anywhere with a signal or WLAN connection.

It's a shame I couldn't write it, but I'm throwing the idea out there guys! 😊

Certainly seems a good idea, I'm sure there are websites that aggregate the currency data in a way that could be easily used by such an app.

Would be nice, if some of these conversion apps these days would allow you to get the current currency rate over internet, save phaffing around all the time.

Nokia seems to have a habit of never implementing things which are just plainly common sense. (The converter idea is not the best example of this). I doubt many will be sorted.

the free worldmate app for nseries does exactly that, It goes online (on your request) and updates all the exchange rates for you (and the weather forcasts if you want)

Thanks, I wasn't suggesting that there were none out there that did. I was just suggesting its just a simple thing, that I would kind of expect in a built in app. (Otherwise I have always found the included ones useless).

Nice one! Where dya get it from? I've bought things overseas before and it'd be nice to have an up-to-date converter at hand.

A google search wouldnt go amiss 😉

And thanks mmarks, Ive downloaded it now too, its a good app. Shame it doesnt have many cities near me, but otherwise its good.

Any idea on data usage?

I would've googled except I was at work. AAS isn't something the network admins monitor, but google is. I'll download it in a mo and give it a go 😊

must admit it takes ages entering all the rates into the phone...!
