N95 - 8GB - battery status level is always 100%

Hello,
I'm using a N95 - 8GB (RM-320 - fIrmware 11.0.0.26).

I noticed the battery status level is always at 100% (for 12 hours now). I've been using bluetooth, umts and wifi during the past hours but no changes still 100% ....

I downloaded nokia's "device status" application but this shows 100% too.

This problem is very annoying as you do not know how long the battery will last.

1) Is this a known bug?
2) Is an application available that is able to show the real battery level?

Thank you very much!

yeah mines does that, 100% then the next thing ive got 1 bar and a low battery warning it seems to ignore everything in between im running V20 software

The OP has an 8gb N95 not the N95-1 you have, even with V20 firmware.

I have the 8gb model and I check battery status on the main screen and the bars do reduce over time depending on the apps I've been running.

I dropped my daughter off in Leeds today and for fun used the GPS there and back and spent a couple of hours with her in Leeds. The phone stated with 6 bars and by the time I came home it was down to 4.

I also have Nokia device status and next time the bars drop I will check what it says.

BTW clive1 your issue is a known "bug" on the N95-1 although I thought the V20 update helped with battery life by using demand paging like the 8gb model.

Depends on the apps you have open I suppose.

yeah the battery life is alot better but the indicator is useless 😊

I was laughing when I read this....

The N95 was battery down within 12 hours...
Your N95 8GB (and mine) stays always at 100%...

Why the complaints?

LOL

Yes, it was!

48 hours later, having bluetooth running for more than 14hours, it is now at 57% (taken from Nokia's "device status" app).
The battery status level is also shown correctly ... This is really nice, I thought battery life was much shorter. 😊😊😊

Yes, the battery life on the N95 8GB is astounding. Far, far better than the 25% extra capacity you'd expect from the battery specs. So they've obviously used some different components inside etc. And this is all with twice the RAM having to be powered, plus a bigger screen - very impressive.

Steve

On screen it now shows 4 bars and in device status it it is 71% so I suppose it works LOL!

Never had a problem really.

Anyway good night, god bless and may your god be with you and have a happy new year from me and if you are in Sammy Platts 2 morrow near Old Trafford I'll be the one showing off the the new phone LOL!!!

I occassionally have issues with my battery meter level on my 8GB N95. As mentioned, sometimes it reads full then suddenly gives the low battery warning. It's not too much of a problem, as it doesn't always do it, but still annoying! 😞
