Sound very silly, bad where is the place to attach the strap that comes with the p800?
Nothing mentionned in the manual.
Thanks and regards
Danny
Where to attach the strap?
i saw it in some pictures taken om my-symbian...
remove the back so you expose the battery...on the lower part of the phone you'll see a kind of hook, put the strap around it and tighten it then put on the cover again so it comes out in the little hole in the cover........
hope you understand 😊
It looks like that hook is going to break anytime and with a cheap nylon strap hanging out from the middle, that doesn't make the P800 look very sharp... 😉
that stupid little V shaped groove in the bottom of the phone? thats pathetic, it's not even a real hook, it slopes outwards if anything which is even worse :'(

No thats not the one, you have to take out the back cover first to see the real hook!
the two at the near bottom left and near bottom right?

The in the middle. Take out the battery cover and you should see it right below the battery. You need to take out the battery to remove/attach the strap.
so far I have not had any problems with the strap 8)
There is a one-liner in the manual (pg 18?) that mentions it, but it took ages for this forum to work it out a month or two back :-?
It is actually quite solid and reliable. I find the best use is that you can stick the phone in your jacket pocket and tuck the lanyard through the button loop in the jacket; keeps the phone vertical and you can get at it quickly when it rings.
You can also use it to hang off the rear-view mirror in your car to replace the fluffy dice... 😃

lol, yeah, a little expensive to replace when your going over speed bumps
this one?
Yes. That one.
Cunning, isn't it?
And, amazingly, it works. 😃
My friend use it with his keys...instead of the phone :-?
i'm a little worried tht the strap will snap, the thread is already a lil squashed where the lid comes down on it, can i get replacement straps? or are they like universal?
er, the lid shouldn't come down on it.
The lanyard should thread through the little hole.
That said, it is woven nylon, so should be pretty strong (though I seriously doubt it would take bodyweight).
I'm sure you can get a replacement from SE, in fact almost any Japanese electronic product comes with similar carry straps these days.
Someone, somewhere, probably does designer ones -- bet you could get a solid gold one if you looked hard enough...
😃
well i wrap the strap round my hand twice, then hold the phone and it's like a perfect fit, bit i think it's because of the tension caused from wrapping round the wrist strap pulls the strap and so when i put the phone in my palm, it's quite tight on the hole cut out from the cover (lid) which is why it is a little flattened, does that make sense?

Great! Now I finally know what to do with the stupid strap.
