Hello all,

I have bee browsing relevant areas of yor forum for a while but now i find myself stuck.

I was 1st brought to your forum when i learnet tha the software on phones was customised by the operator and using a friedns help and your forum i succsesfully managed to flash the software on my orange nokia N80 using the nss software and update the software to the latest version using NSU.

Yesterday i got my new (standard) N95 on orange (not the 8gb version) and reading through the 4 sticky threads at the top of this page i noted down the EURO1 codethat i would require.

Using NSS i sucseeded in changing the product code no problem.

I then closed NSS and loaded NSU and searched for new updates and as your forum said it detected version 20.xx.xx update from the version 11.xx.xx that was currently on the phone.

it downloaded all 117 ish mb and than began the update.

It then threw up a message saying update failed. so i tried again to no avail.

at this point i gave up and using NSS i reverted the phone back to the version code it had originally.

my question is a big one... why would it not update?

Quite a common cause of updates failing is your internet security software. Maybe shut all that down and give it another go?

thanks steve,

I had my AVG shut down and Zonealarm shut down.

I was wondering about the security certificates in the certificate management section of the phone?

You could try backing everything up, then removing your mem card and doing a hard reset (*#7370#) before trying the update again.

Nothing funny happening on your PC, like Windows Firewall turned on by accident for instance?

s.

As suggested do a hard reset and try again.

Also try a different USB port and/or usb cable.
