How cool will these be?

Thats the future tbh, its the way its going to go. Someday you will have phones capable of playing things like halo3 with a projection unit in.

In my lifetime? Who knows, but its certainly very very exciting.

I said I liked them because they are cute, not that I want to commit some weird indecent internet stalking craziness, or worse. 😊

Some people find rainbows nice, others like women. Asians also tend to look younger than they really are.

I think I've gone off topic 😊

Back on track though. I wonder what the power requirements are for a laser projection unit like this. At first I thought it was snake oil, but sure enough, it's real - PicoP. They've done a deal with Motorola already, sadly nothing available for consumers just yet.

I don't think it could be used for anything more than movies or slideshows. Try playing a game on it and the screen will move whenever you do. It'd be impossible! 😊

spot the demo pic with it hooked up to a Wii..

"The projector battery is good for 2.5 hours of life.
The screen resolution is 848 x 480 offering DVD quality images."

certainly good enough for N95 output. 😊

Oh yeah it'd be fine for a Wii. I was talking about if it was built into a mobile phone in the future.

I think built in would be too 'wobbly'. The distance from the projected surface amplifies any movements so even pressing buttons would be too hard to do without the image wobbling all over. I think external ones would be much more practical

cracking idea, but will it be the next must have like touch screens?

hopefully someone will invent a sensor that will turn the projected image into a touchscreen... now that would be great!!

If you havent already seen... just by using a wiimote, you can turn your existing big screen or projector into a multi touch touchscreen* (You need to use an IR Pen/laser on the screen... but its still amazing!)

Wii Touchscreen < I think the links down at the moment, try later...
