N95 Keeps Blacking Out

Hey folks...

After a bit of advice....I think my N95 has got the millenium bug 8yrs late!

Since new year, my phone "blacks out" for no reason. For example, if I switch between menu's or write a text message, the screen goes blank for a split second. ...I don't mean the backlight goes off or the phone switches off, it just literally goes blank (as if the phone was off) but after a second, comes back on and I can continue as I was.

I thought this might be a firmware issue as I recently updated to:
V 20.0.015
13-11-07
But even when doing a format of my phone and re-installing the firmware, it continues. Anyone else experiencing the same or anyone got any advice?

Cheers in advance.

sound like the issue I was having on the V10 firmware, it would do it in the middle of calls, during sat-nav, etc, and afterward the mic would not work so calling someone afterward, they couldnt hear you. Have you tested if that is the case with yours?

Hey,

I think you'll find its a screen problem not firmware related. I am running the same firmware and recently had an issue with my screen.
The screen would go off, come back on again, the colours would be all messed up and lines on the screen.
Took it into my local NSC and then replaced the screen, works as normal now.

Try hooking it up to an external monitor/TV with the TV-out cable. If the problem doesn't happen there you know it is the screen.
