Really Big Problem With N95 8gb Please Help!

Hi, i've had a n95 8gb for the past few days and i had about 40 songs, 10 pictures, 20 games, and about 15 apps installed on it then i recently installed the ir remote crack, after i done that when i connect my phone to the computer it gives an error message saying that i cant access mass storage as a application is running on the background. so i backed up all my files and hard reseted the phone. when i start it up again and goto applications most of the games and apps are still there which don't even work! so then i tried re-installing my firmware, the same thing, those stupid games and apps are still there they dont even work and i cant even remove it, it says "removing failed". and when i start the phone up it says "INSTALLING" and i pressed the red button to get rid of it and i sometimes get an error message saying all applications were not installed please connect to ps sync and install them etc etc. PLLLLEEEAAASSEEE HEEELLLPP!!!

OH YES AND I BOUGHT THE PHONE OFF OF EBAY, IT WAS BRAND NEW AND SEALED WORKED PERFECTLY UNTIL NOW!

Have just updated my N95 8GB to version 15.0.15 Firmware

no problems so far

1 thing that has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks is the same crap i had with my old Nokia N95-1

today it re-started itself.........again!!!!!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!

i was in my car, stopped for some food, started to write a text message and then "kapow" the pice of crap turns itself off while im doing it
and NO i didnt have any applications running in the background, i make sure they are off.... apart from SKYCALLER which i couldnt do without, its great!

i have truly had it with Nokia N Series Phones now, i wont be buying anything like them again, YES they have all the features, but come on! we still got the re-starting issues!!!
i dont know if the New Firmware i installed today will cure it, maybe it will, maybe it wont
i even text my contact at Nokia and simply said "no more!"
didnt get a response, then again i knew i wouldnt

i will probably get a million messages saying "mine is fine"
the point is you wont know its restarted if you carry your phone in your pocket or have it on your desk i suppose

Have you tried the soft reset that just resets it to factory settings? Had a similar issue with my N73 and nokia maps. Just did a soft reset and bam application gone.

I have opera mini installed on my N95 8gb and when I try to remove it I get the same "removing failed" after updating the F/W to v11.

Oh hum maybe someone will come come up with a fix.

:con?

And the slagathon continues...

I used to have a fairly bad restarting problem with my N95-1 but it stopped eventually. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was because I updated the firmware. If all else fails, how about re-flashing the firmware on your phone? Might do the world of good 😊

Hi S41-1iL

Unless you installed the app to the phone memory reformatting the phone memory will do no good you need to reformat the Mass memory to clear out all the stuff that is causing your problem. Go to the memory icon in the menu and choose options then format the Mass memory and that should solve your problem.

Sometimes the reason some people have problems that others don't is down to just how much software they put on their devcie some of which can cause conflicts even certain themes can cause problems. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to adding apps IMO and if you have recently installed a new theme try changing it to see if the problem goes away. But my N95 8gb hasn't so much as hiccuped except for the not being able to delete an Album title only the tracks inside it nad that appears to be a known problem.

I would try a complete reset. Format the internal memory and either hard reset or re-flash. If that all works then gradually reinstall your apps over maybe a week so you can see if one of them is causing the problem. Also, try installing everything to the phone memory rather than the internal hard drive, might help.

Lordhawkwind, please don't start personal attacks on other users, your first post in this thread was completely uncalled for
