Debranding and Upgrading FW makes N95 Lose it's EDGE

I debranded and upgraded FW on my N95 without backing up and restoring (Didn't think anything was worth keeping! :redface😊. Now it doesn't connect to EGPRS, only GPRS on GSM network. Is EDGE worth the trouble to find O2's EDGE settings back on it? I can hardly approach O2 having debranded. FWv20 is loads better, esp for the camera response times.

Surely it's not too much of a hardship to find the o2 settings? Don't know about o2 but with T-mobile you just find it on their website, key your phone number into a dialogue and they sms the settings to your handset where they're installed automatically. With O2 investing heavily in EDGE because of the iSlug, it would probably be worth your while.

just call o2 and get them to text you the settings, don't use the ones off the site

Cheers for your replies. I got the configuration settings message from O2 when I first booted the phone. This message included the settings:
Access Points: O2 Postpay WAP/O2 Postpay MMS
Multimedia Access Points: MMS
Web Settings: WAP.
I'll give them a ring to see if they can supply further settings needed for EDGE.
Cheers.

Edge is 2.5G or sloooowwwww.

Just use the regular internet connection, it'll use the best one available.

Erm.........

You dont need EDGE settings, you use the normal GPRS settings, if the BTS that you are connected to (for your information, on O2 or Orange a Nokia UltraSite BTS that has been enabled for EDGE) is EDGE capable then you will automatically get the faster speed.

Not sure what else in the phone could cause your problem but its def not the settings for Access Points etc.
