Hi everybody, newbie here 😊
I've had my N95 for 3 months now and to begin with it was perfect. It didn't freeze or reboot itself like many of my friends had experienced and seemed to be fine. However about a month ago I heard a fast beeping coming from my pocket. I took my phone out to find that it was rapidly scrolling through the menu, trying to ring contacts etc on its own. I took the battery out to see if it did anything but there was no change. In the end I gave up and left the battery out and went back to my SE K800i for a week or so.
When I put the battery back in the N95 after a few days it was fine and wasnt pressing the buttons on its own again. However ever since it has been doing it almost every day. To fix it i'll need to leave the phone turned off for a few hours and do a hard reset by holding * 3 and green. This is getting really frustrating now as it means I have to reinstall all of my applications etc on a daily basis.
I was just wondering if this is a common problem or if it has been heard of before? I was thinking perhaps it was an internal electrical fault triggering as if buttons are being pressed but if this was the case why does a hard reset fix it? I currently have firmware version 12. Is it worth changing the product code and upgrading to version 20 to see if this solves it?
Thanks,
Dan
Maybe a silly question but did you have nokmote installed and running ? just wondered if that had been the cause

Nope, I had no other apps installed. I also haven't installed any since just in case.
Dont know about any cure but mine dose something simular.
Basicly it calls people by its self and sends Text messages from the log off its own back.
Can be very awkward if it sends my boss a message i wrote for my wife complaing about work (😡Thanks Nokia !!).
Its not the only fault an so has been fired back at Nokia again, guess i will have ot wait and see what they say this time.
PS Blue tooth is switched off, as is WLAN and 3G.
Mine did something similar, Got a case for it with a magnetic clasp and it causes chaos with the phone, had to start putting it in facing away from the magnet. fine after that.
Not near any magnetic sources are you?
I've never heard of a problem like this before. Before more replies were posted in this thread, I would've sworn that one of your nav keys was stuck down.
None of you use your phone with sticky fingers, do you? 😉

LOL I meant after eating toffees or anything 🙄
I've had it since V20 .. kinda annoying .. I can't be bothered working out if there's any pattern to it .. like does it call the last person you contacted or whatever .. but it looks like it.
🙄
your sure your buttons aren't stuck?
Thanks for the replies 😊
It does act as if the buttons are stuck but i'm 99% certain they arent. I can go to bed with it fine and plug it in to charge, yet when I wake up in the morning I find that it is doing it. I changed my product code from O2 to euro1 yesterday and upgraded to v20. It hasn't done it since but it could go over a day without it happening before. If it DOES happen again I might open it up and check out the nav keys.
Ive the same problem on N95 8GB ex Vodafone, debranded it installed latest "sim free" firmware and still the problems there.
Anyone found a solution or taken to a service centre
Is there anyway i could disable the troublesome key (Multimedia) via the registry?????
Hi, i'm new to the forums, but i am also having a very similar problem, but my phone opens my menu's and changes through all my music constantly, its happened about 4 times since i have had the phone, and like someone said i leave it for a week or so and it might work again or i have to go get software updates. i was woundering my up volume button is out of alinement with where u press, could that be maybe causing it somehow =/?
Also its never any number buttons pressed, always seems to go for the music and is constantly pressing them.
I have the same issue though I believed it to be down to the top left button being stuck.
What I found was when the keypad was left unlocked it would open the message screen, pick the the top contact and send a blank message. This was all things that the top left would have done.
The top left button also doesn't work, the problem with it actually doing these things seems to have stopped for me now and the button just doesn't work.
Strangely the problem stopped for a while the day after I went into the phone shop (they didn't do anything). Now it's all of a sudden come back again.
Worst thing is it means the battery goes down very quickly because as the button presses it's self the light comes on.
