Could somebody forward me in the right direction for updating my firmware on my N95. I'm not having any problems or anything but was just wondering if i need to update it because at the moment my firmware is as follows:
V11.0.026
17-04-07
RM-159
Nokia N95 (65.01)
My product code is 0548021
It is a N95-1. Which firmware is the latest for this product code?
Also if somebody could tell me the process of updating firmware as i have NEVER updated before, eg. do i need to take my sd card out of the phone before i start the process? Do i need to back up my phone contents, apps etc.?

It's not possible to determine if you have the latest fireware if we don't know if your phone is branded to an operator or not. If it's unbranded, then you don't have the latest firmware. If it's branded, you may have to wait a few more days or weeks.
To update a N95, connect the device to a host Windows PC and run the Nokia Software Updater application. You don't have to remove the memory card while updating.
My N95 is branded to O2. It has the O2 screen when switching on and off.
I don't know if O2 in the UK has rolled out 20.0.015 yet (a quick search in this forum didn't help), but others here can help with that info.
Anyway, it never hurts to try Nokia Software Update (NSU). If the new firmware isn't ready yet, NSU will tell you immidiately. And then you have to try a few days after instead.
My advice: update asap, beacuse it's worth it! Finally, the N95 has become what it should have been from the start.
I just found this post (I posted in another thread) I got my N95 (with 8GB card) today from 02 and have had EIGHT crashes already always when opening the browser and trying to connect to wifi. So I need to get upgraded to the latest firmware.
However when I try the proceedures above, I am told by the Nokia updater that I am already on the latest firmware (Version 12.0.0.013).
From reading around the forum I believe the latest is 20.0.0.015.
Can I assume from this thread that because I bought this from O2 then I am stuck on this very very unstable firmware?

Follow the sticky in this forum and it'll tell you how to change your product code so you can upgrade to the latest firmware.

No, at worst you have to wait a few weeks and can try again then.
