i am on orange pay as you go. What is the correct access point or setting for 3g to work?it has came on briefly with a full signal for a second then it goes of i am in a city that is a 3g hot spot(leeds). Can someone tell me the settings or where im going wrong or really anything to do with it. Thanks steve

AFAIK 3g should just work. There are no specific settings, other then choosing UMTS other than GSM on your phone, to get it to work. Oh, and you need a 3G compatible Sim from Orange as well. I don't know if they ship out compatible sims as normal, but I know that I had to request mine from O2 (free, of course).
Yes, check first that you have a 3G sim card. If it is more than a couple of years old, or if the original phone it came in was not a 3G phone, likely hood is that you have only got a 2G one.
Other than that go Tools > Settings> Phone> Network> Network Mode> Check it is in Dual Mode.😊
problem solved you were right. afetr calling orange up it seems the 3g sim a paid �1 for is only a 2g sim. cheers for the advice

I'm interested to know if you can get a 3g SIM from Orange. I have recently purchased a new pay monthly SIM for my new N95 and they say I can only have a 3g SIM if I purchase a phone from them!
As far as im aware they have no problem giving you a pay as you go 3g sim for �1, but from other forums i believe that they will not give you a contract 3g sim
