Any changelog?
i haven't seen any changelog yet.. but i think the update is for ME..
Yeah, update is available for ME Euro1 Product code 0537289 only.
What does it give us?
I've got the update, but I can't say there's a great difference.
- There's still that stupid cursor on my screen when I phone someone.
Something else I haven't discovered yet.
well i noticed there is search My Contents which allows you search your contacts, messages, email messages, calendars, other files, to-do notes, notes. The music is i think louder than the regular n73. Web upload option under gallery. and Image in Video call? is this always been there? lol thats all i noticed...
The Menus are definitely faster. Finally the camera's shutter sound is synced with the actual shutter release. The view finder freezes a second before the actual picture is captured, so you have to wait for the photo to be rendered before you can see what was actually captured.
The Equalizer Settings are saved again, unlike the previous version.
Not so sure about Demand Paging. When running more than 3 apps simultaneously, one of them is bound to shut down. Also cannot get BestTaskMan or BestKeylocker to load at startup, even though the setting is active in the apps.
Have been unable to restore the backup from my memory card - fortunately I had a (outdated) PCSuite backup on the pc. Unless it's a unique problem with my phone, I strongly advise to backup using both PCSuite & the phone's built-in backup.
Hi all - i finally upgraded my firmware to v4.0750.31.2.1 (after altering the product code, of course).
A new theme called Stave is included and my Tomtom GPS Bluetooth is now working fine again, as it was rendered useless in the last firmware update (cant remember that revision, sorry).
The multimedia button now takes you straight to the MP3 player - cool.
As for A2DP, i cannot comment as i don't have bluetooth headphones but i can port music to my standard bluetooth ear piece (so maybe A2DP is working??)
FOTA still doesn't work - has anyone managed to update their firmware using FOTA?
Nokia MAPS is included, needs internet/GPRS connection - i have Tomtom! 😊
This has been at least the 5th firmware upgrade on my N73, each one wen without a hitch - just as well, as the Orange branded firmware was soooo laggy!
Thanks to all who share their info on upgrading N73 firmwares 😊
Regards
Markkyboy
actually, to get the autorun apps like best taskman or handy taskman..
after flashing your phone, just do another reset.. *#7370# .. it will format your phone..
and after that, all autorun apps will autorun as usual..
just upgraded, seems a fair bit faster than before
new sms now loads in 3 seconds instead of 4
mp3 button loads in under 2 seconds instead of 3
menu loads instantly
rear camera loads quicker
TomTom isn't any faster though
still works with both the BT GPS and BT headset or headphones
but the camera still gets the blue fuzz in low light
otherwise very happy
For the camera inorder to remove the blue haze put the white balance to SUNNY MODE. It will work both in Camera and Video mode, the blue haze will dissappear.
I wonder when the none ME version is coming out !:con?
Is there still a difference between ME and non-ME N73s?
I started with a vanilla 73 then upped the firmware (like most of the world!) with a product code change to get the superior music player, quick access key etc.
This then became available in standard 73 firmware updates and I have altered my product code back to Euro1 through all my subsequent firmware updates (the ones gave us A2DP, lost us bluetooth GPS connectivity and then gave it us back..)
Now you can freely change your product code and chop and change the "core" of your phone (regardless of its outside appearance) is there still a big deal about two versions of N73 firmware?
Product Code 0537289 is giving me this response on both NSU & nokia.co.uk...
Latest available software for Nokia N73, product code 0537289
Version: 4.0736.3.2.1
Any ideas why people are claiming otherwise ?
Strange..
I'm gettng the same now, Rob.
Checked it twice via NSU earlier this week and the update was available so I was going to give it a bash tonight.
But.. like you say, it's now returning 4.0736.3.2.1 as the latest for p/c 0537289.
Interestingly you get offered an option to reinstall the ME firmware but with the standard 0539976 N73 product code it just says "your firmware is up to date, good night mate"
Have Nokia withdrawn the firmware?

too bad you didn't got the new software.. its so fast your inbox gets alot of memory error.. 😃
If it's been withdrawn it's been withdrawn for a reason.
Dunno how much credence this has.
Let us know if your phone turns off automatically.. 😉

have users on the new firmware downgraded to the previous?
doctorjeep71 wrote:have users on the new firmware downgraded to the previous?
NSU doesn't allow downgrades of firmware.

Why don't Nokia sort out that damn annoying flashing curser! What purpose does it serve? It seems to be where the thumbnails would normally appear on a caller if he/she's details had a thumbnail in the address book.
Can you confirm that V4.0750.31.2.1 for the ME Edition also still does this?
