Net access through mobile

Hello,

I have a Nokia N73 on 3 pay as you go.

If I buy a 5 internet add on for my phone can I access the net through my laptop?

How is this done please?

Thanks.:icon14:

Pretty sure that on PAYG the internet add on that you've bought applies to WAP.
WAP is internet for mobiles, and allows u to browse WAP sites that are only compatiable with mobile phones.

So if this the case - in short - no.

However you can browse the internet on your phone by using the phone as a modem (not sure if ur phone doubles up as modem, but most do). Basically u connect the phone to ur laptop, and u can get dial up internet on your laptop.
But its very slow and a very expensive option on PAYG and only really sutiable to use if ur only looking for a way to access your email.

I can get 3g access with my add on if that makes any difference.

I also have the nokia software suite which allows you to connect but I dnt know the settings or if it will work with 3G.

Added the net add on and tried it last night using the Nokia software and selecting 3 UK. I left the username and password blank and it dialed and connected but dropped the line as soon as it connected.

Any ideas please?
