I have this strange issue with my Nokia N95-3. Some images that show up in the browser appear slightly garbled (heavy artifacts) and black and white. When I view them on the N80 or on the computer, they look fine. Is there some "image compression" setting for the N95-3 that I'm missing somewhere? This sounded like it is a firmware issue, and I updated, but because I have the N95-3, the latest version is 11.2.009 dated 28-09-07. I've seen from other software updates for RM-159 that Nokia has addressed some image/graphical issues but I can't use this firmware for RM-160, can I? Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Turns out this is actually a Cingular/AT&T issue. My phone has apparently auto-discovered the settings for "MediaNet" and "Cingular MMS". Either way, the MediaNet access point specified contains a proxy, which is causing the image compression. I removed the proxy and it's fine now.
For anyone that has this issue, here's how to resolve it:
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points
Click on the Access Point (MediaNet in this case) and click the left button "Options" then choose "Edit". Choose the left button "options" again and go into "Advanced Settings". There you will see the proxy address specified. Remove it, and you're good to go. Be sure to delete your cache from the browser first, though. 😊
