sending quick text

is there a way or shortcut to be able to create a new sms quickly ?

I have enterred home and mobile number for my contacts but I found it tedious to have to select mobile number everytime I want to send a text to a friend ?

I am hoping there is a way to set the default sms new text to use mobile number to send to rather than ask me to select it everytime.

I hope someone can help 😊

There is yes.

Open your phone book. Select the applicable contact so all the fields are displayed. Then press Options, Defaults. You can then select the default details for calls, sms's, mms's, video calls, e-mails, etc.
