A case to hold the phone AND get GPS signal

I am starting training soon for the great south run soon and plan to use sports tracker. My question is, does anyone know of a case that will hold the phone solidly but allow decent GPS reception too?

Good luck with this one mate... I found the gps tracking whilst running a total nightmate.. way to many variations to make any worth..... switched to the nike+ kit...

But if you do source something that works well... let us know.

My other plan is to use a bluetooth GPS recevier I have knocking about from my old 7610. I guess that might be better as I could keep the phone in a little shoulder pack I have and fashion some sort of holder for the receiver

Not bad, and thanks for the suggestion, but things around the neck when running tend to bounce against your chest which is annoying to begin with, painful after a while and probably not great for the phone either.

You'll probably find if your BT device is SiRF III then it'll work inside the bag (perhaps at the top). I use one of these (Nokia LD-3W) for cycling and skiing and either put it in the bag on the back of the bike or in my pocket when I'm skiing and it works fine.

You're joking aren't you, I bought it 4 years ago for £60 😊
That's why my first thought was to use the internal GPS on the N95 cos it's better!

You could probably stick an Aquapac to your kit, with stickyback velcro maybe?

The Aquapac weighs almost nothing so the velcro would hold it ok. It protects the phone pretty well and is completely waterproof too. Can't think of anything better at the mo. Belt mounted cases aren't too good with the slider open, Shame to carry two devices when one would do it all!

Exactly my thinking but protecting the phone is my first priority.

Well, not my first or I just wouldn't take it out, but you know what I mean
