help me!!

i have just noticed that the screen of my n95 is appearing darker and i can see the pixels and the lines when the screen refreshes(as you see when you film the monitor of your pc). what is the problem and how to solve this?
help me, i'm really afraid

One of two things.

1. The ribbon between the screen and the logic board is not attached.
2. The screen is dying and needs to be replaced.

Number one is simple, just unscrew the cover and check that the plug is firmly attached. (If you are still in warranty then take it to Nokia)

Number two will cost you a little money, but it's a simple 15 minute process.

thanks for your reply but if its number 2, how much it will cost as i have lost my warranty?
how can this have happened? did i do something wrong? maybe i need to change my behaviour so that it doesnot happen once more

If number two it'll cost you around 30 pounds (UK) to have replaced.

There is no real hard and fast rule on how these things break, sometimes it's a manufacturing defect, other times you might just look at the phone the wrong way. Dropping from a height and angle that it doesn't much agree with is perhaps the most common cause though.

Take the phone to a Nokia service centre.
They will verify your warranty from your IEMI number and do the repair which should be free of cost if the fault has arisen from component failure.
Nokia manufacturers warranty is, I believe, 2 years.

i bought my n95 in hong kong at the duty free shop and not my home country. will the warranty count?

Nokia used to have a World Wide Warranty and this may still be so.
Contact the service centre and tell them that Hong Kong told you that they have WWW and see if they will honour it!
Good luck.

phone the nokia service centre in my country and told me they could repair but i have to wait till end of february as the lcd screen of n95 is out of stock~!!!!!!! 😞

i tried removing the screws with a t5 but i think i've damaged the screws. any way to "repair" this?

Hi all

Sorry but Nokia do not have Worldwide warranty although IMO all manufactures should do since they keep telling us we live in global market. I had to sell my first E90 as it was from UAE so had no warranty anywhere but there.

Marc

tahnks for your help but i damaged the screws, how do i proceed?

Are the screws still in? If so, your in a lot of trouble.

If they are not, do NOT use them again, buy some new ones. Im not sure where from but I know theres replacements.

lp4u wrote:hey ho. any help?

Looks like a little patience would have been wise here. If the service center was out of stock and you didn't want to wait, why not buy the screen yourself and take it to them

the warranty is on until you spend ayear with out contacting them

What? Are you suggesting that if you keep ringing Nokia at least once a year to 'say hi' the warranty will just roll on?!
Sorry but that is absurd. It is a 2 year warranty from the point of sale covering manufacturing faults.

Nokia's come with a 2 year warranty here in the UK!
