updating firmware, wap settings, hidden wlan

Hi

I have a Vodafone branded N95 8GB. If I change the product code and update to the latest unbranded firmware will it affect the contract WAP settings etc or, as I hope, will these remain the same?

On another note, the phone in its current state seems to have trouble with my hidden WLAN, i.e. my router doesn't broadcast the SSID. I have set it up in the access points but it's very random whether it gets picked up or not. Works fine when SSID is broadcast. I have the latest Vodafone firmware and hoping the latest unbranded will solve this problem.

Thanks

If you change the product code to remove operator customizations, then yes, you will lose all your operator settings. Generally these are easy to set up again though - just browse your operators website or take your phone to one of their outlets and have them set it up for you.

Hidden SSID's can be set in:
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points -> (Pick the one you want or create one) -> WLAN network name

I've not had any problems with hidden AP's using this method, firmware V15.
