just a quick question. what is the best Nav app apart from standard 1 that works with the n95s internal gps?

garmin is hands down the best one. but its not free. the best free navigation, turn by turn voice, is amAze gps. but it uses data and streams maps thru the web connection.

when u say not free do you mean that its a one off payment for the app and maps? as in its not a prescription?

Garmin Mobile XT is a one off payment, no subscription necessary.

just got it and have decided its far better than nokia maps anway. am i right in sayin that nokia maps is constantly using a data connection there for costing me money as i am on pay as you go where as garmin doesn't? and also that the gps reception is 10 times better and faster

Depends. If using nokia maps, Id highly recommend downlaoding the maps beforehand, as you can use the maploader on a PC to download whichever country/countries you want.

If you dont have the maps, it will download them over the air as your going along. Unless you have a hefty dataplan, this will cost you.

Garmin does not download maps over the air, but for certain things (traffic, weather etc) it does use the data connection. that shouldnt be much though, but I havent tested it out.

For me, badly at the moment. Im going to fiddle with the settings, hopefully that will solve it.

Have you downloaded the POI loader from Garmin? Its the settings when you transfer them to the phone.

thanks never knew that. any other handy info on it?ie where to get addons or whatever?
