If you are refering to the Sky program for the Sky+ box, then yes it is free to use (data costs aside but I note you have free data, so not an issue in your case). It's a great little app and I've been using it dor a while now. What exactly are you having problems with? It's been a while since I set mine up - I think I had to register with the site, d/l the app to my phone, configure my Sky+ to work via the Sky website and that was it.

Let us know your problem and we'll see if we can help sort it out.

i have set my sky+ box with my mob num. Not sure if i got the correct app on my mob as it says sky anytime but it does give me option to record. And i can only use 30 day trial version. So i guess firstly i need a link to the correct software

You've got the right app, and if you've registered your SKy+ box and mobile number you're good to go. The 30 days trial period is just for Option 5 on the app's home page menu - Sky Mobile TV (or if you press the right soft key). To record on your Sky+ box via mobile, you need to select Option 4 from the menu - Sky TV Guide. You'll then be shown a list of the various program categories, and then, after selecting one of those you'll get the Remote Record disclaimer page. Click OK and the listings will load up. If you wnat to record something, highlight the program, press the left soft key and it will send the data to your Sky+ box. They warn that it may take up to half an hour but in testing it I've seen it done in under 5 mins.

when i try to login i get this message... your credentials are correct but you dont seem to have permission to use the mobile application.

where can i get the software from..i cant find it on skys website the one i have may be corrupt
