The worlds of mobile and social networking keep circling each other but (the hibernating Jaiku aside) never seem to really hit it off. Ewan Spence has been looking at Zyb, an online sync host and social network that launched recently. How integrated is Zyb and is it worth signing up for yet?
Read on in the full article.
I've tried ZYB for quite a long time now. After I lost my previous P990i i bought a new one. So, zyb was given a test for real and oh! suddenly they don't provide any manual settings at all! Only send by sms, and Yes! no sms is received by me, not matter how manay times i've tried so far. It's just hopeless to me (or any other user who wont receive any SMS by ZYB)
IMHO Mobical.net is a lot better than zyb.
Why? Mobical offers 'delete Duplicates', a VERY useful option, they know why it is there 😊
Before was working good, now that they turn Zyb into some kind of facebook or myspace, it doesnt work anymore.
and No, never received the SMS, no matter how hard you try.
You can't get Zyb sms, at least in the USA, because service sms are blocked. Here are the manual settings for nokia (I don't know if they are the same for sony):
Application:
Contacts-> Include in Sync: Yes; Remote database :contacts; syncronization type: both ways
Calendar-> Include in Sync: Yes; Remote database :calendar; syncronization type: both ways
Connection settings:
Server version: 1.1
Data bearer: Internet
Access Point: Always ask
Host address: sync.zyb.com
Port: 80
Username: your username
password: your password
Allow sync request: Yes
Accept all sync requests: No
Network authentication: No
I Sync with mobical.net
I have duplicates in my Contacts. How to remove them?
Thanks for the settings. I never receive the SMS. I couldnt find the manual settings. I thought it was me cause they changed the site look. Now they offer "support" which I have yet to receive via email. Soon they will be asking for money. I just want to sync and go, not make friends.
