Hey all,
Having read thru the other thread on Garmin Mobile XT I thought it would be really good if someone could write a detailed "dummies" guide on how to get "Garmin Mobile XT" installed on N95 8GB from complete scratch to having Europe maps and being able to use internal GPS..
So far i have downloaded and installed the latest...
- Garmin Mobile XT Support Files software
- Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 software version
- Garmin Mobile XT Free Basemap software
but I am assuming it's locked because I havent paid for anything yet! How do I go about getting a serial (paid for of course) so I can use internal GPS? and how can i go about getting europe maps / traffic / speed alerts all installed?
thanks in advance
Id contact Garmin about that. AFAIK they only offer it on memory card. Im afraid it cannot be posted on the forum how to move it from memory card to internal memory as it negates the copy protection.
Ooh I see, oh well - one lost customer lol
* continues in his wait for tomtom internal gps support lol *

Why don't you just email them? Getting one reply that says they can't help you isn't reason to give up on it. Garmin aren't TomTom, they actually reply to emails with useful information.
Check your PMs, its the addy for garmin support.

ok. ill give it a whirl 😃
its just after my nightmare with navigon im wanting a simple solution but ill see what they are like 😊
i dont condone pirating, and i paid for my copy of garmin. however, there are means to get it to work on other memory cards. this forum is not the proper place to discuss. but as long as you buy the software, i feel that using the alternative means is morally ok. and yes garmin uses the internal gps of the n95.
