I've had the N95 for a few months and I've been happy with it, but now its started a problem of when using the 9 key its cancels itself back to the standby screen.
It only does this intermittently, and it doesn't matter what function I'm using, i.e. texting or writing a number in.
has anyone else experienced this?
I'm abit nervous to take it back to vodafone as I have updated it to the latest firmware, would this have affect on the warranty or have I dug my self in a hole?
Cheers for your help guys
Quite possibly a software bug, see here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/67764/
Send it back. I wouldnt worry too much about the new firmware/debranded, AFAIK no network has refused one yet due to this.
I've fixed it now, thought it might have been some dirt stuck under there so I gave it a blast with our high pressure air line and its now solved 😃
Bit risky! You have to wonder if the other case was the same thing, and they were wrong when they said it was a software error...
it wasn't hugely risky, its not super high powered, just sort of pressed the keys abit if you get what I mean.
Mine was doing it.
I did a reset and it was fine for a week or so. Then it did it some more.
Not good when you live in a 019** area code. And want to send SMSs with w,x, y or z in them.
I sent it back and (after some testing) was told it was a "software problem", although oddly I have a shiny new slider & screen on my n95 (with the original body)...
And I had the naughty new firmware too.... no questions asked...
