hello fellow n95 users, i have the 8gb model and i cant seem to install applications that dont have a signature with them. for example themes i have created using carbide dont have signature and i get an error when trying to install them. same goes with the rotateme application. I changed the options in the application manager to accept all applications but still i get the same error. Whats the deal?
thanks
You have to sign the application. You can self-sign for your own IMEI.
Good article here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/6555_How_to_Sign_an_S60_application.php
hey thanks mate, however why do i need to sign the application when i have the setting turned on to accept ALL applications?
Every application installed on the phone needs to be signed. Big companies self-sign them. Other smaller programs often require self-signing.
Once you get used to signing the apps it isn't that difficult.
cool, well i got it working, creating the signature only took like 2 mins 😊
