Exciting things are still happening on the S80 platform. Edo has just released a new all singing all dancing macro for insertion of text phrases into doucments etc in File\Macros & Plugins section of the FileNote group on Yahoo.
Since starting to use FileNote I have been looking for a macro to quickly insert standard phrases into documents, text messages and emails. A number of these types of macros were available for Macro5 on the Psion 5mx, but none have been available for FileNote. So, I started the ball rolling with a very simple macro and Edo then took over the development to implement major improvements in speed and use of the macro.
Phrases which can be up to 255 characters long, can pasted into the host document and may contain any of the keywords allowed in Paste: (Text$) from the FNMacro library. This makes it very easy to enter constantly changing information such as dates and times. Longer text can be stored in text files in the \FileNote\Macros\QuikText\ folder and can be inserted into the host document just as easily and again they can use all Paste: macro functions within the file text like %% city%% or %%date%% etc.
The database of phrases can be:
a) Added to - either within the macro or by importing a text file of phrases
b) Edited
c) Deleted
d) Sorted
e) Compacted
f) Imported from text file
f) Exported as text file
The macro can be called up with a hot-key, is extremely fast and has a very easily maintained database.
Best wishes,
