N95 Screen problems

Hi everyone, newbie here. :icon14:

Ive got a problem with my N95. Its only about 4 weeks old and the screen when first active is partly blank and wont show the date and time. It just shows a blank white strip at the top. the background is the standard 02 bubbles and it still shows messaging and 02 at the bottom corners. The phone still seems to work perfectly and has no other obvious problems.

What could of caused this and can it be fixed or do i need to send it back for repair?

Thanks in advance

Jon.

Right ive tried changing the theme and it changes as usual.

I can see whats happening now. The o2 bubbles are over the top over the screen saver. Ive changed the theme and i can see the theme at the top and bottom of the screen but still have the o2 over the top.

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks again

Jon.

I did have troubles with this, I fixed it by de-branding and upgrading the firmware.

Or it could possibly be the ribbon cable for the screen either lose, or faulty.

Try a firmware re-install first to see if that helps, if not take it to a NSC.😊

Hmmm, I got three lines across my screen (left to right), they appeared out of the blue. I have not dropped the phone or anything (never). They just appeared. Do you recommend re-installing my firmware ?

It depends how much of an inconveinence it is really. There is also an inherent risk with a reinstall that it could possibly brick the phone. Maybe you could try a full format instead, which is a bit less risky.

It is more to work out whether it is software or hardware related.

I have seen a lot of people with ribbon cable faults over the last few months.

I bought my phone directly from Nokia, therefore it's not branded and a firmware reinstall should cause no problems. But I think it's best if I just take it back and have them fix or better yet, replace it.
