Heat Reactive Fascias???

This thread included a poll: Would you Buy a Heat reactive Fascia?

hay guys, well as promised iv got some heat reactive samples in! this paint is mega expensive so i want to make sure there is a market for it before jumping in and buying the stock!

How it works:
Basicaly it's a liquid that wen painted over something looks black but then wen exposed to heat it turnes transparent!

this meanes you can put any basecoat down liek an orange , green, flippaint etc.. and then paint the HR paint over it so it looks black but wen exposed to heat it showes the original basecost you layeddown,

tha HR paint can be mixed with candy concentrates to make it turn dark coloures like dark blue dark green etc..

basicaly a light basecoat and a dark topcoat!

Watch my video's of the samples http://www.youtube.com/stiofansisland (Warning, my first atempt @ making a video, excuse the music)

so the question is would you buy 1? guestimate on price for front and back is £50-60

please vote in the poll or this will go nowhere!🙄

thanx, steven:icon14:

Hi stiofansisland

I voted no but then i am in my late 40's so would imagine not in your target demographic, it's just not something i would find parts of my devcie doing as appealing. Some 10 years ago or so i tried something similar with UV reactive dye for T- shirts and whilst many liked the concept. Like for you the price was a prohibitive factor good luck though if the demand is out there.

Marc

Nice, but I reckon that price range might prove difficult.

yeh price is main factor in deciding i think! i was talking with the company who sel the paint and they do all sorts of custom work, they said they would charge 120 for a heat reactive fon fascia!!!😮

i admit at that price, it is a small number of ppl who would go for it! it is the initial price of the paint which pushes the price up! if i had 10 orders it would save me time, materials, money and i could prob push them out for 40!

i love the idea personaly!, if you have it in your pocket it changes color, if u hold it while texting it changet colour, in sunlight it would change colour(well only in the summer) and in the shade it would be another colour!

eep the voting up and th ecomment , thanx guy's:icon14:

love the idea but cost is important, if you got 100 orders how much would that cost?

Casperuk wrote:love the idea but cost is important, if you got 100 orders how much would that cost?

that would be alot of order! and im guessing i'b be able to do it for 28-32

but thats just a guestimate! Oem covers are expensive! aswell as the paint which requires a base cost then the HR coat then laquer!

thanx steven😉

cool, i don't know what i would do with £2000 worth of cases but would be cool. it's a very good idea, if you can get 100 people off here to get one i'd be up for it.

that IS very cool!! I have voted no though as I wouldnt part with +£50 for a cover... even though it would be without doubt the coolest cover anyone had...

I might possibly part with the magical £49.99 figure tho... I dunno... depends how flush Im feeling... I like it... looks great. Does it last?? All I remember of colour changing stuff is that it eventually wore out... or if it ever went to too hot it stay the heat colour?!?

Either way tho... my no vote was a reluctant one and based mainly on price.

It looks intriguing. I've voted yes but I'm already going to be getting a flippaint one from you 😉

doh lol, well im really impresed with these and i want 1 lol so if i can get 9 other ppl to comite to geting one i will do them a front and back for 40!! thats the best i can do!

what i like best is thers so many options with this! you can have the hot colour anything you like! i was thinking of geting my airbrush out and maybe doing some designs or a scotland flag!(i aint done any airbrushing in over a year though so i'd be a bit rusty) so it would be black cold and the wen i held it you would see the scotland flag or a design etc...

im quite impressed no1 has slated my video's yet lol:redface: was my first atempt and just used random music i had in my music folder

as for robstness, i think the paint is diffrent! it is coated with a laquer! are you thinking of the tshirts?

iv poured boiling water over these samples several times and they are still 100%, im prity sure the plastic speedshape would melt b4 the paint is effected!

wish i saples of these cos i cant stop playing with them, and im sure you would be the same! or maybe it's just me lol🙄

so any 1 intrested?

Then at £40 I'll be #2 for you. I, like you, probaby wouldnt stop playing with it....I was even thinking if i could dip a corner of the phone in hot water to chnge it! 😉... bad idea.

and yeah, I was thinkin about the t-shirts, and a nice bird that stripped mug I had! 😉

Good man! 8 more 2 go!...

lol yeh dipping your fon in hot water, prob not the best idea lol, i only used hot water in my vid cos i dont own a hayer dryer which i would have used! it will change colour if u just grip it with your hand for a few seconds!

yeh my friend has a ironing board cover of a girl who loses her bra and panties wen the iron passes over them! think it was his GF idea to get him to do the ironing lol🙄

lol, i havent seen the mugs that would be intresting! i was thining about spraying my kettle aswell that would be kool!..

oh the possabilitys lol... sorry im pushing my own thread off topic lol:tongue:

hahahaha, a kettle!!!! brilliant!! 😉

yeah, going off topic here, laptop skins would be cool too... anyway, back on topic

I voted no, i dnt know just the concept of it wearing away afta a little while plus the price is abit high to be honest!

Good luck mate!

KingDingaLing wrote:I voted no, i dnt know just the concept of it wearing away afta a little while plus the price is abit high to be honest!

it dosent wear away!! we were saying the tshirts were away but these paints wont! ppl paint ther whole cars with these and they are going to be changing back and forth everyday! these paints wont wear out! and the price reflects quality! if you goto noia for a new front and back original fascia you will spend 40+, i dont use crappy products, it's the same concept i use wen im doing car resprays! every job i do reflects on my workmanship! so i just plain refuse to do a "quick" respray on a rusty old car! in a few monthes wen the rust comes thre it will look shit an reflect bad on me! it's the same with fon covers you have to start with quality fascias! i wont work with your 99p fascias that are flimsy and rubish! it would just reflect bad on me!

ask any1 who has had a fascia off me!😊

thanx for the feedback though! if they were cheap every1 would have 1 and they wouldent be very unique!🙄

My fascia I have from Steve is of high quality. Its not going to rub off, I can tell you that now. I am infact going to send a keypad for him to do which will complete the phones look.

When you consider the time involved in this, it really is worth the money. Just depends how much you want your phone to be individual and if you like it.
