Upgrading from ameo......

3 replies · 1,936 views · Started 19 January 2008

hi,

im upgrading from my t-mobile ameo to the e90

but have heard on some earlier models the keys rub on the screen

is there a way to tell if its 1 of the latest model via the color ? as im ordering

over the phone

thanks

Not by color, but by motherboard... behind the battery theres a hole, and the last motherboard have a "4"... Its an indirect way to know that.

Hi cryptkiller

That problem existed on the early ones which is why production was stopped for a while and the issues resolved. I have just got my second E90 after a long wait and It came with V7.24.0.3. Which is the firmware before the latest it leaves no grease marks on the screen has no rattles and is built as you would expect a E Series to be built perfectly, i would say the chances of getting an early build one now is very unlikely.

I bought my Mocha E90 yesterday and the keys still leave marks on the screen from fingerprints. There are no rattles though and the build quality is excellent but you've made me paranoid that somehow i've obtained one of the older models!!! Is there a better way to tell?

Maybe your fingers aren't as greasy as mine?

I immediately changed the firmware to the latest generic and I'm a bit peeved as the signal flits from 3g to gprs to nothing with heavy usage of browsers/data intensive applications.

Is there a fix for this? people in other forums have made mention of it.

Hi Cryptkiller by the way, I recognise your tag from XDA Developers.
